Lisa Melody French, 60, needed spinal fusion after a 2014 car accident.
Centura Health's St. Anthony North Hospital quoted her $57,601.77, which her employer's insurance would pay.
Out-of-pocket costs were $1,336.90. Court documents say the hospital "misread" her insurance card.
Centura charged her $303,709. Her insurance and ELAP Services covered the $74,000 surgery.
Still owing $229,000, Centura sued her.
